Jordan Schwab is an emerging hip-hop recording artist based in Columbus, Ohio. In 2021, he released his highly anticipated debut album titled, “The Star” onto all digital streaming platforms.

The album was written and recorded over the past year, and it blends a variety of different emotions and genres that will appeal to any listener. The overall message of the album is about letting go, focusing on the positives in life, and finding the star within oneself. Schwab describes this collection of songs as a journey towards finding peace.

Beginning with the intro track “LET-GOTRO”, Jordan Schwab tells his story over the course of the 11- track album, until he finally begins to find peace in himself in the outro song, “New Beginning”. INTERVIEW

When did you first discover your passion for music, Jordan?

J: I discovered my passion for music when I wrote my first song back in high school. I was probably a sophomore at the time, and for a while, I was scared to record. I feared what people might think, but after a while, I finally found the confidence to record my first song.

What three words would you say best summarize your music?

J: Life, Character, Carefree.

So tell me about your debut album “The Star”, which recently released.. What was the inspiration for you to write it?

J: “The Star” is about me finding peace, letting go of negativity, and finding the star within yourself.

Most artists say that through their art they learn more about themselves… in what ways has music helped you?

J: It has taught me that no matter how down I feel in the moment, if I look back at my music I recorded when I was down, it reminds me that bad things got better in time.

How do you want your music to help other people?

J: I want my music to motivate that one kid who’s so scared to release their first song, to finally find the confidence to go and do it.

What is you songwriting process?

J: My songwriting process starts by me just listening to my favorite artist, and getting the motivation from them. It really helps with writers block.

who is the first musical artist to inspire you?

J: J. Cole. He is my number one inspiration.

what would your ideal life as an artist look like?

J: One day, I want to start my own movement of artists in Columbus, Ohio, and start my own label. I want to make musicians in Columbus heard, because each one of us has something to say.
